OAKOLLECTIV OPENING EVENT MAY 20, 2011

WE ARE OPEN....YEAH we had a fantastic opening event. Beautiful people coming through our space and lots of shopping going on. Big success. If you didn’t make it, please stop by any time between 11am - 6pm Monday - Friday. We will post when we have more special events coming up. See you soon.

Last Day to get all details done...we are trying not to be stressed out, but it is creeping in. See you Tomorrow 4-8pm 1427 Broadway Ave Downtown Oakland.

One more day..Then we will see you all for the opening. LOTS of little details are keeping us up late these days...but it is all coming together. Clothes are going in and now it is time to steam a LOT.

 

The Opening is near....and we are getting closer to have it all done. Yesterday was a big day..all the shelf’s and racks went up with the help from Keba and Amanuel and we had more friends stopping by and look at the progress and lend us a helping hand. Products are going in next week.... Can’t wait to see it all come together.

We are proud of the Oakollectiv homemade PLANT BOXES..put together by Keba Konte and Amanuel Reddy, hand painted by us. Wheels found on the street of West Oakland and Aloe Vera from the garden. A little bit of NEW and a little bit of OLD, something found and something bought. WE LOVE IT!

WOW we got a lot done this week. Nneka and Afrobuddah logo Murals was done today. We still have a lot more to do, but we are ahead of schedule....

Grand opening of OAKOLLECTIV Pop Up Store.

OAKOLLECTIV will officially opening its doors on Friday May 20th 2011, hours 4pm—6pm

Oakollectiv Pop Up Store is located on 1427 Broadway and will be housed in the old city owned Raiders store “the spot” in downtown Oakland.

OAKOLLECTIV is a collaboration of two experienced designers, Penelope Adibe and Rachel Konte, both transplants from Europe to the US. They have come together to create a Pop Up Designer shop in the heart of downtown Oakland.

The space will feature 3 local brands; AFROBUDDAH by Rachel Konte, NNEKA by Penelope Adibe and Guerilla Clothing by Guerilla Café (designed by Rachel Konte). They plan to bring a diverse mix of merchandise from women’s wear, vintage modern kitchen house ware and menswear to the store. All the entrepreneurs in the space have one thing in common; they are all Oakland residents and run their businesses locally.

Penelope Adibe and Rachel Konte are the curators and daily managers of the OAKOLLECTIV.
